Target Audience: Walla Walla, Columbia and Franklin counties residential (including site-built and mobile homes), multifamily and small commercial energy efficiency upgrades. Enhance local workforce development in the energy arena.

Objective: Conduct home performance assessments and provide energy retrofit assistance to homeowners, landlords and small businesses.

Strategies: Update waitlist contacts and schedule free home energy reviews. Provide outreach at numerous community events and to civic groups. Strengthen partnerships and networking with local contractors (trade allies), utilities and landlords. Contract and oversee audit and quality assurance work as needed.

The high savings-to-investment ratio allows federal funding to be leveraged three to one by using utility incentives and homeowner contributions.

Success Story

Sustainable Living Center

The Sustainable Living Center’s Home Energy Round-Up has trained and mobilized over 75 student volunteers.

By focusing only on top priority energy efficiency measures such as insulation and air sealing, homeowners are saving money and energy. Participating homeowners anticipate a positive return on their investment in three to five years.
