About the Awards

Washington State is a hot bed of industrial innovation and leadership. When looking at successful industrial enterprises, a common denominator of companies at the top of the list is the efficient use of energy resources.

The Washington State University Energy Program - in collaboration with the Bonneville Power Administration and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance - launched a multi-year, state-wide program in 2012 to recognize industries in Washington State that are leaders in energy efficiency. Now in its second year, the Washington Industrial Energy Leaders (WIEL) program is intended to identify and recognize those industrial businesses in Washington that have demonstrated leadership in the pursuit of energy efficiency. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 awards.

Governor Jay Inslee is scheduled to present the awards to winners on December 10, 2013 in Olympia at the Washington State Capitol Building. The awards ceremony is an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of award recipients, learn from those leaders, and network with industry peers, as well as resource providers that can offer additional support for energy efficiency.
