Information and Support for Resource Efficiency Management

A Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) or Resource Conservation Manager (RCM) is a designated individual acquired by an agency to support its energy and resource efficiency program. The REM's or RCM's sole focus is to bring about reductions in the cost of energy, water, natural gas, fuel oil, refuse disposal and any other utilities. This is done through improved use practices, greater attention to utility billings and rate structures and the installation and use of resource management equipment.

The WSU Energy Program provides support and information for REMs and RCMs through web materials, newsletters and other information dissemination. Use the links below to choose the type of information you need.

  • Resource Conservation Managers (RCMs) public sector non-federal such as schools, cities, counties, universities
  • Resource Efficiency Managers (REMs) federal sector
As of December 31, 2006, funding for the REM Program has ended and support is no longer available through the Washington State University Extension Energy Program. While the information contained in this website will no longer be maintained, the resources will continue to be available to those interested in Resource Efficiency Management.
