Energy Engineer

The engineer in this position will develop and deliver programs to support energy efficiency and distributed onsite clean energy generation by partners across the Northwest, with a focus on industrial clients ranging in size and business type. The person in this position will lead the Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership, support programs such as our community solar programs, and act as a technical resource for other diverse projects within Washington State University’s Energy Program. This position will be responsible for leading or contributing to grant writing/ project development and reporting, technical assistance and client interface, and education efforts.

Energy Program Coordinator - Green Transportation

This is a high-level position for the Green Transportation Program at the WSU Energy Program. This position is very public facing, providing direct education and technical assistance to public fleets on the use of alternative fuels. Key educational tasks include publishing educational materials and website content, as well as hosting virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, and events. Primary technical assistance duties include consulting with program clients, performing techno-economic analyses, presenting findings, and supporting client progress.

Energy Program Coordinator - Food-Energy-Water

Under the supervision of the Unit Director, support program planning, development, outreach, and program deployment for a set of linked food-energy-water projects focused on understanding the climate impact of agriculture and potential methods for reducing impacts while maintaining economically viable agricultural production. Lead and contribute to development of research and extension plans, and the development and submission of proposals. Collaborate with other team members, lead data collection, analysis, and synthesis of research relating to the climate impacts of agriculture, inter-related food-energy-water issues, and other environmental issues relating to energy and agriculture, with a focus on economics. Establish and develop relationships with stakeholder clientele and respond to expressed needs. Conduct focus groups, surveys, and other data-collection activities; develop record-keeping, analysis, and reporting procedures. Synthesize literature for diverse audiences. Formulate and justify conclusions and recommendations. Develop and edit scientific figures and communications products that support reader understanding of current status of scientific knowledge. Integrate technical modeling-based and other research project results, information on uncertainty and related scientific material into project reports, scientific publications, Extension publications, curriculum and other materials in a variety of traditional and non-traditional formats for dissemination to clientele.
