WAZIP helps businesses and commercial fleets save money when they buy or lease cleaner vehicles and equipment. Funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA), WAZIP offers point of sale vouchers that lower the upfront cost of eligible zero-emission on-road vehicles (ZEV) and off-road equipment. Purchasers can choose from a catalog of approved models and work directly with participating sellers to complete their purchase.

WAZIP offers free, robust technical assistance for planning and implementation, provided by a consortium of organizations including WSU Energy. This support includes eligibility guidance, utility engagement, and decarbonization planning, available to any Washington entity even if not eligible for voucher funding.

  • Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Analysis
    • Using your fleet’s data, we can develop a TCO report that analyzes your current operations to determine which vehicles would be the most cost effective and efficient to replace.
  • Charging Infrastructure Analysis
    • For fleets new to electrification, we can develop a charging plan, estimate your fleet’s needs, and conduct a site analysis to find the most suitable infrastructure locations. We can also answer questions and address challenges with current charging infrastructure.
  • Guidance on Vehicle Replacement
    • We can compare new gas and electric vehicle options to determine which options make the most sense for your fleet’s specific needs.
