Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP)—Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)
WAZIP helps businesses and commercial fleets save money when they buy or lease cleaner vehicles and equipment. WAZIP is funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA) managed by WSDOT and administered by CALSTART.
WAZIP offers point of sale vouchers that lower the upfront cost of eligible zero-emission on-road vehicles and off-road equipment. Purchasers can choose from a catalog of approved models and work directly with participating sellers to complete their purchase.
WAZIP offers:
- Discounts at the time of purchase or lease (as long as available funding lasts)
- Support finding a ZEV that fits your needs
- Technical and infrastructure support to ensure fleet readiness
Who is eligible
Businesses, nonprofits, Tribal nations or government entities that are based in Washington State, have operated in Washington for at least one year and be in good standing with state and federal agencies. Usage of the vehicle or equipment must be 75% in Washington and solely for business or commercial purposes.

Ecology’s Diesel Reduction Combined Funding Program—Washington State Department of Ecology
Ecology is offering $18.5 million to scrap and replace old diesel vehicles and equipment with all-electric vehicles and equipment. Funding is also available to install charging infrastructure to support the projects.
Funding is available from both the federal Volkswagen settlement fund and the state-funded diesel reduction program. The program funds projects that replace or repower vehicles which use diesel engines, prioritizing projects in areas impacted by diesel pollution.

- Businesses licensed in Washington
- Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations
- Public organizations
- Tribal governments
Eligible project types
On-road vehicles, class 4-8, engine model year 1992-2017:
- Emergency vehicles
- Local freight vehicles
- Vocational vehicles (sweepers , refuse, etc.)
Non-road vehicles:
- Forklifts (> 8,000 lb. lift capacity)
- Cargo handling equipment
- Yard trucks/terminal tractors

Up & Go Electric – Puget Sound Energy (PSE)
This opportunity covers up to 100% of equipment and installation costs for Level 2 and DC fast charging ports and transmission upgrades. There are various options depending on whether users want a PSE-owned or customer-owned port. There are maximum per-port incentives as well, depending on the charger type and for customer-owned projects whose sites directly serve and/or benefit historically underrepresented communities.
Who is eligible
Any customer located in PSE’s electric service area who is interested in installing public chargers, fleet chargers, multifamily chargers, workplace chargers or home charging.

Tax Incentives
Act fast! Local governments, tribes, and other qualifying entities that invest in clean commercial vehicles, charging equipment, and other clean energy infrastructure can get tax credits as direct payments from the IRS. These new benefits are offered to entities that don’t pay taxes or receive tax credits, such as schools; state, local, and tribal governments; nonprofit organizations; U.S. territories; hospitals; and places of worship.
